Top Excuses for Putting off Your Coursework for Later

The moment your teacher offers you an assignment every student feels the same thing – I am going to start working on this assignment immediately, this time I will start early enough so that I have enough time in my hands. But the reality is somewhat like this:

Soon enough as you see your desk pile up with stacks of coursework and assignments, you begin to panic all while becoming a pro at excuses and try to rationalize your procrastination somewhat like this.

So, if the situation we described has your head nodding like a bobble head? Then you will enjoy this list of excuses that you can use the next time you have an assignment to put off for later.

Excuse #1:

The library has… well too many books and people studying which does not inspire you to get to work in such a boring environment. I mean look at the people sitting with stacks of books with laptops open with Word while they text or FaceBook under the table! Who would want to sit in such a crowded place of serious souls to work?!

Excuse #2:

Working at home or in your quiet room is too daunting with all the distraction lurking at every corner of the room. Also you have access to all your smart devices unsupervised, who will save you from drowning into the vicious circle of endless internet browsing. Then there are other devices like the TV set and the refrigerator to lure you from your very important work.

Excuse #3:

Netflix just mailed you about a new episode of your favorite TV show. Soon you find yourself watching two more episodes of the latest sitcom without ever glancing at the clock. Your justification is simple – I am doing this just for inspiration to write better. I will get to work right away.

Excuse #4:

You realize the sun is the problem. Now you just question the whole practice of daylight saving overall. How can people even work with all the light and noise and distractions happening during the day?

Yes, the best practice is to get doing your coursework at night; 2 am is when poets and mad men rule and you sure are one of the two breeds!

Excuse #5:

You figure out that you perform your best when anxious with deadlines creeping closer like the ghost from Grudge!

Now that you only have two hours to plan, research, write and then edit your paper and submit it to the supervisor to safe your grade, you get to work and convince yourself that deadlines are the best motivation for you.
